SOAP

Envelope templates rendered with XML-escaped parameters, parsed with `lxml`.

Faults

//Fault matched namespace-agnostically is an error, with faultcode and faultstring recorded.

XML to record conversion is deterministic

Element becomes key. Repeated siblings become an array. Attributes become @name. Text becomes a collapsed value, or #text when the element also has attributes. Namespaces are stripped unless keep_namespaces: true. xsi:nil becomes null. Golden tests cover every one of those cases, because "it looked right once" is not a contract.

Pagination

soap_cursor (a queryMore-style locator, stopping on done == true or a missing cursor) or page_param. Large responses are stream-parsed rather than loaded whole.

Auth

session_token and ws_security_username_token (nonce/created, optional password digest) inject into the header block.

Credential proof

An operation that returns without a Fault.

Questions

Which SOAP sources has Ingest certified?
None yet. Ingest authors a SOAP connector from the vendor's own API documentation when a customer asks for it.
Can Ingest sync any SOAP API?
Ingest authors the connector from the vendor's published API documentation, runs it against the real API, and lists it as deployable only once it passes. A connector is a declarative spec, never per-source code, which is why a new one is authored rather than programmed.
Where can SOAP data land?
Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Apache Iceberg, Ingest Managed Lakehouse, MotherDuck, Postgres, Amazon Athena, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, MySQL / generic SQL and Snowflake. The data lands in a destination you own, under credentials you control. Ingest keeps no copy of it.

The other source kinds Ingest reads: File, GraphQL, gRPC, REST, SQL, WebSocket.
